What is the best place to go in Europe? |
Travel Info My husband and I are trying to plan a trip. We can only afford to spend a few days in one or two countries, and can't decide which. We're thinking about Greece. Also, I have been to France and he doesn't have much interest in seeing it, but if you can give me a reason to give him why France rocks, please do :) Travel Tips i'd recommend prague. it's a beautiful and quaint (even more quaint than salzburg, IMHO) place, with a beautiful castle (in fact, europe's biggest castle) and many other pretty scenery. things are cheap there (food, beer, crystals). not quite a usual european city (like paris or rome). i have never been to greece before so i can't judge (though i've heard that it's a wonderful place too, esp if you go to one of those islands). Others VENICE, ROME, ZURICH, GREECE ETC I've been all over Europe and for shear beauty and charm, Salzburg, Austria is way up on my list. For bigger cities, Paris is great. France is full of rude people, I wouldnt even waste my time. I have found Greece is very nice, and then just work your way up the coast to Croatia, another really nice place. That whole area is great, and its cheap in comparison to western europe. Italy in my opinion has the best bang for the buck. The vatican, collisuim, venice, and florence have lots of priceless art and great scenery. However if I had to choose I would say Athens Greece, and Rome Italy. The top two. p.s. Paris is full of rude pricks, however in the summer Cannes and Nice are incredible. You may run out of stuff to do after the 2nd day. Unless you like the beaches. In which case Greece has better beaches. Paris for the tower and the food and the romance trust me I meat my boy frend ther and we are still coing trust me it will wourk grate for you if you are loking for love. You could very well have an incredible time with a trip between Greece and Italy. Great food, history, friendly people, beautiful places to see. You could spend a day in Athens, which is perhaps all you need to see the Acropolis, a couple of museums and then run to the islands. The most popular Greek islands would be in the Aegean sea, like Myconos, Santorini and Crete. However, if you are to travel between Greece and Italy, I suggest you visit the Ionian sea Greek islands, like Kefalonia, and Corfu. I think you could take the boat to Italy directly from Corfu Greece to Bari Italy. In Italy Rome and Venice are top destinations, and it would also be worth checking out places like Florence or the South of Italy if on summer vacations. If you plan to visit for a winter - skiing vacation, you could try France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. France rocks because of the wine. But then again Italy rocks there as well.
