Travel Info Isn't hitchiking a good way to travel through Europe? I hear it's safer there.? Travel Tips i wouldnt recommend it. I am here in Amsterdam (netherlands) and I am from america. People really arent different on either continent and we arent liked all that much at the moment and there are really assholes out there so I realy dont recommend it. Others yeah right, people are the same everywhere, trust no one, especially if you're american the rest of the world hates us It is safe. Just follow the same types of rules that you would follow in America. I only hitchhiked in Italy, but I would assume it is similiar all around Europe. I would go to gas stations (people fill up before making long journeys) and simply ask people for a ride. Often, you might want to offer a little money for gas. In Eastern European countries, hitchhiking is VERY acceptable. However, you will definitly be asked for money. Follow basic precautions. It is harder to find a ride at night. |
