When my husband and I go to Europe, will it be better to join a tour group or to travel on our own? |
Travel Info I believe that there are pros and cons to both. If we join a tour group, then we don't need to worry about our itenerary, about us getting lost, no more stress in planning the whole trip. If we travel on our own, we will save (since it will be cheaper if we research well) and we can have more time in the places that we like. So that's our dilemma. I really want to go to Europe within the year. Must-visits are the ff: France, Spain, Italy. Thanks in advance! Travel Tips It depends upon how adventurous you both are! If you have fun exploring together, and aren't worried about "getting lost", then do it on your own. There's enough information on travelling Eurpoe without the need for a tour guide. Of course, "getting lost" moments are the most memorable parts of trips. I could write pages on my one-day "getting lost" adventure to Waterloo and how it was the best part of my last trip to Europe! I think it all depends on your personality. If you would prefer as much as possible that things "go right" or "according to schedule" then best to join a tour group. If wanderlust is your thing, and you have fun just by being wherever you find yourself, then do it on your own. Others You know...you are absolutey right. I traveled with a tour, and didn't have time to see everything. I wish I could have done it on my own. But then again, it's a vacation. I didn't want to stress, so I'm ok that I let the driving and planning to someone else. I just thought to myself, I can always come back on my own in the future when I've won the lottery. This time, I'll know more of the area, and where I want to spend the most time in. But if you just want to relax in some resort area go on your own. |
