Are money belts necessary for traveling in Europe?

Travel Tips
For the price of a moneybelt you should invest- keeps your passport and money secure and you forget you're wearing it within minutes (cotton is good- doesn't sweat like synthetics). Wear it against your skin, not a bumbag which is an invitation to any thief.

I lived and travelled for 7 years in Europe and got pickpocketed shortly before I left, so no matter how smart you think you are, there's always someone more sly!

Others
there's nice and not so nice people everywhere - especially in places with lots of tourist i would advise to have your money in a secure place. i have been traveling in europe many years ago and remember that i.e. rom was a bad place for crime such as taking belongings from tourists. hope that helps
Any major city has it's share of pickpockets - especially in crowded or touristy areas. It's best to be cautious.
Hi. I've been to Europe quite a few times and have never used one. I always carry my wallet deep in my front pocket and always keep an eye out especially on the subway and in large groups of people. Stick to the tourist areas and you should be ok.
