Which type of trains can I use with the Interrail ticket in Europe for one month? |
Travel Info I am going to buy the interrail ticket for one month (the whole continent) and I want to know what type of trains I can use with it, e.g. ICE in Germany, TGV in France. Travel Tips You can use your euro rail on the ICE and TGV in france, as well as through the chunnel to london. It will also let you take the boat from denmark to sweden as long as you are on the train. The ICE and TGV because they are high speed make you pay a supplemental charge, as well as the Chunnel train, for the chunnel the ticket is 75 euro one way, if you have the euro-rail. Regular its like 150 one way. The Ice will make you pay like 12 euro but to go across the whole country, france is the same. Its not a bad deal becasue these trains get you there at high speed. like 150+ mph. So save more time and see more. Plus the ICE and TGV are like classy trains, im saying classy compared to the beautiful peices of junk you will find in Italy. If you dont want to pay any fees besides the euro-rail ticket you can do that too, but you have to take the local trains and they stop everywhere, and are very uncomfortable, and slow. Plus on the luxury trains there is less chance your bags or property will be stolen. For some reason thieves just dont get on the nice fast trains. Source(s): Personal experience, Euro rail 2002.
