Should I move to the south of France?

Travel Info
I am retired military and Bi-Polor. I went to Nice France and loved it. What would I have to do. I only get $1700/month. Could I aford it. Speaking French is no problem for me.

Travel Tips
You cannot move to the South of France and live unless you are a French citizen. You are an alien in France just as the aliens from Mexico are illegal in the US; so other aliens are illegal in France.

The only way around this would be for you to marry a French citizen and get their equivalent of a green card.

Also, the amount of money you make per month will not support you in France. Things are very expensive in France and the South of France is becoming particularly expensive.

What would you do for medical care? The French medical system will not support you.

People forget that WE are the aliens in other countries and we are not welcomed to live in other places. Source(s): I am married to a French man and I know the French laws regarding aliens.

Other Travel Tips
Instead you should move to Mexico or Belize..
1700 usa dollars is not much in the South of France.
I am french but lived in many other countries...
1700 a month in thailand and you will be the richest man in the country
if you live smart, yeah, but you have to have very very specific plans.
rural quebec or costa rica might be better for you
$1700/month? unless if you just rent a room should be alright.
