Travel Info Hello i'm french and i would like tou know wath do you think about french? Travel Tips French is a beautiful language, but the authorities try to hard to stop it changing. One of the strengths of English that if there is a good word we will adopt it, not caring where it comes from, Restaurant, brasserie, entrepreneur, OK, OK? As a people the French are mostly charming individuals, at least if you speak French (which I do). BUT as a society they have gone a bit adrift. Paris runs everything, and runs it for the Parisians who know they they exceptionally intelligent, cultured, witty, best dressed, altogether glorious people while the rest are at best country bumpkins. Parisians are often not very popular outside Paris. French companies seem to run on the principle that life would be good without customers disturbing them, and seem to have a culture of corporate mendacity. The staff seem to be trained to say anything they think you want to hear except the truth . 'Ca m'occupe' I'll attend to it. . means 'please go away and let me get back to my magazine' On the other hand the doctor invites you into his surgery and shakes your hand and listens attentively to what's wrong with you. The crowd at a Rugby match is friendly knowledgable and eager to chat. The food in their supermarkets is of a far higher quality than British and by and large less expensive as well. Their clothes shops can be sooooo elegant and their wine has less than a third of the sugar put in by Australians and Americans. And they said the war in Iraq would be a disaster. I have no problem with either except that I cannot speak your language very well and cannot understand you because the french speak so quickly. French people are very nice even though I have only known a few. I love them and spend every free moment in France. I also love the way I can take my little toy poodle anywhere, hotels, restaurant etc. Love the language Love the landscapes of France. Do not like Paris!!!
