Travel Tips
Here are some tips to help you settle in easier:

Groceries: Shop at Kaufland. It has a great selection and it is very cheap. Aldi is cheaper but has a poor selection.

Electronics: Media Markt or Saturn

Pfand: a deposit on each bottle (beer, soda, etc) you buy. You pay it up front and get the money at the end.

Travel: Die Bahn (www.bahn.de); you can get good deals like the Happy-Weekend ticket when traveling with a group of people. If you will be traveling a lot or there for a long time you could buy the Bahn-Card-50. It costs 100 Euro for a student for 1 year, and will give you 50% off tickets in Germany and 25% off tickets in Austria and Switzerland.

Doener: A Turkish fast food; very cheap and available almost everywhere.
