Anyone like visiting TV masts and towers? |
Travel Info Since I went to Berlin and went up the Fehnsehrturm tv tower I always make a point of going up interesting towers when on holiday. Its art and engineering. Theres a great one in Prague too. A lot have public access. Theres a something called the 'World ferderation of great towers' Anyone been to any good ones with public access? Travel Tips I'm not particularly interested myself, but the Emley Moor transmitter in West Yorkshire is a striking structure, and at 330m is nearly 100m taller than Canary Wharf. Wow. I have heard of getting high while on holiday but thats taking the mick.. Electric sub stations float my boat I have gone to one here in Florida several time, it is a radio and cell phone tower and they are make it look like a huge pine tree and you can hardley tell the real ones from the tower. It is a wonderful work of art in this modern world. We saw another one this past weekend and it was at a church and was a huge and I mean HUGE tower that was made into a huge white cross. It was quite a sight, we were touched. |
