Right now we have 4 airlines flying between the islands. So at certain times of day or week. Tickets can be gotten much cheaper. A great way to visit other islands, is to book a tour with Roberts Hawaii. They handle air and all land arrangements, it is great if you only want to go for a day to other island or overnight. Cost depends on if you stay over night, and where you stay. They offer a number of places. Next summer something very exciting is coming to Hawaii. WE well have a Ferry system going between the islands. Cost is going to be about half of flying, Best part you can take a car. Check out web. www.HawaiiSuperFerry.com Others It really depends what you enjoy doing most. Oahu tends to be a little more commercialized with more sites to see. Maui is a little more for relaxing. Some of the smaller islands are less touristy if that is what floats your boat. Island hopping isn't THAT expensive relative to the expensive of a hawaiian vacation as a whole but it isn't like catching a cab. I have been to 4, Oahu, Hawaii, the big Island, Maui and Kauai, They are all beautiful but the most interesting one was the Big Island, Hawaii, The most beautiful was a tie between Maui and Kauai, All have beautiful beaches. It is just that Maui and Kauai is more exclusive. Enjoy I can not wait to go back. It is a expensive to go from Island to Island about, when I went 2 years ago $100 round trip per person. I do not know what it is now. Big Island is the cheapest by far. Gas, food, restaurants, etc. Lahaina, Maui and Poipu, Kauai'i are tourist traps avoid at all costs. Pai'a, Maui or Upcountry Maui isn't badly priced. Honolulu is like the mainland for us. Its overcrowded, over priced and the traffic is a nightmare. North shore Oahu is nice but getting spendy. live here brah |
