Does England have a nickname?

Travel Tips
In days of old England was known as "Old Blighty"

Some call it the Land of Hope and Glory

Aussies call it Pommieland

Others
It depends who you ask. In the United States, English people are often referred to as "Brits" as an abbreviation for the proper term "Briton." (Briton being a person of or from England/Britain) In other parts of the world (Australia) they are referred to in a slightly more...derogatory way, as "poms." Understand that this teasing is much along the same lines as the manner in which the Britons call Americans "yanks," and is thus not to be taken too seriously.
