I want to know if there is such a thing as having to have $700 before leaving to fly home from the UK? an RTA?

Travel Info
I heard this from a friend and never heard of such a thing. I think the initials were RTA but not sure. Just hoping to verify such restrictions exist-and what is the purpose if u have already purchased your plane ticket would u have to have that amt of money on you? I think it sounds fishy

Travel Tips
Sometimes in your "interview" in passport control they ask how much cash you have. It's just to make sure you've got enough to house and feed yourself for your visit. If you're staying in London they'd expect you to have more cash than if you were staying in Newcastle, etc. As long as you have enough cash to cover your hotel and food for your stay, you'll satisfy that requirement. Enjoy your trip! Source(s): Going through British passport control quite a few times.

Other Travel Tips
I think you should be ok as long as you can prove you are returning to your country of residence.

If you have been granted a british visa you should encounter no problems.
