When construction of the channel tunnel resumed in the late 1980's, did they continue where they left off?

During an 18 month period in 1973-74,the channel rail tunnel was under consruction. Because they ran out of money, constuction stopped. When construction resumed in the late 1980's, did they continue where they had left off in 1974, or did they start a new alignment ?

Travel Tips
THey certainly both used the same site in the UK, Shakespear Cliff near Folkestone. Whether they actually used any of the tunnelling i dont know. In 1974 they only dug 250m of test tunnel so whether that was still any use when they started again in 1988 is debatable.
