England or Scotland? |
Travel Info ...which is best for a working holiday? Travel Tips Depends what you are looking for really Lady J and what type of work you want to do. Outside of the cities they have a lot of similar working opportunities. I am assuming you want to work rurally and not in cities? Scotland is generally a lot friendlier, less populated and more rural. If you want a relaxing, rural working holiday in beautiful scenery where you can spend days without seeing anyone then Scotland could be for you! Especially the North of Scotland. Although places in England have similar rural areas like this - eg. Lake District, Peak District. You are generally a lot closer to towns and cities in England, and the traffic and tourism that goes with this. If you want to do less initial travelling and have chance to city-hop during your visit, do shopping, and have plenty of nightlife then England may be more for you? Obviously the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh can offer nightlife/shopping etc, but these are a long way from the Highlands of Scotland. Hope this helps, and I have added some links to working holidays below which may help you decide on the type of holiday you want...
