Travel Info What are some interesting tourist attractions of Scotland? Travel Tips Depends what you are looking for but I would suggest Edinburgh for a definate visit. It has many things to see and you can do most of it on foot (with good walking shoes). There is the Royal Mile in Edinburgh which is a street stretching from the castle down to Hollyrood House which is owned by the Royal family (I think its still part of the crown). For scenery you have the choice of anywhere in Scotland. For the Loch Ness monster there is Loch Ness and for beauty Loch Lomand. West coast Scotland will give you Glasgow for shopping and also there are many pretty places on the west coast and you can access the isles from the west side (round the Largs area I think) such as the Isle of Arran and the Isle of Butte. You can basically tour Scotland by train or hire a car and really you can go east/west and north/south in a very short period of time. There are tons of castles too dotted all over scotland if you want to do the heritage thing. The border region is pretty too - this is the region of Scotland which is around the english border and thats very pretty and scenic. Do a google on Scotland's Tourist Board and they can answer your questions much better than I. Others Don't forget Nessie! The famous monster. Also Elian Donan castle is worth a trip. The whole region around the highlands is magnificent! You also have to visit one of the many whisky distilleries! Oban, Inveness, Sterling ... There are so many nice places. And don't forget to eat haggis! This might help you: http://www.visitscotland.com/ Glasgow has many great tourist attractions. From Queen street Station during the summer months you can also take the steam train to Mallaig on the West Coast, which has some wonderful scenery on route. Also from the west coast of Scotland you can ferry hop to the islands. www.visitscotland.com personal experience the outer hebrides are a nice place to visit. http://www.visithebrides.com/ http://spaces.msn.com/hebrides67...
