Where are some good places to visit in Scotland? |
Travel Info Where are some good places to visit in Scotland? Travel Tips Obviously there are the biggies - Edinburgh, Glasgow, Loch Ness, Stirling, etc. Do not miss the Isle of Skye just off the West coast. Portree there is the most amazing little fishing village and try to climb the Qur'ang if you're up for some exercise. If you have time try to reach the Orkney and Shetland Islands. The Neolithic settlment of Skara Brae is located on The Mainland of Orkney. Most tours take you to visit places like Culloden (a famous battleground), Ben Nevis(the highest mountain peak in the UK), Glencoe (where the slaughter of the MacDonalds happened) but be sure to take the time to actually explore these places. It also depends on what you are looking to experience. Some places are better for nature(any of the many lochs) than they are for night life(Edinburgh, Glasgow). Try as many places as you can, try them all! Each town, city, loch, mountain holds something unique.
