Can I rent a car in London and then travel to Ireland with it? |
Travel Info I would like to drive from London to Scotland, then take the car by ferry to Northern Ireland, drive to Ireland, then ferry back across to Wales, then back to London. Travel Tips i rented through enterprise, and i don't think they let you. but you can go online to enterprise or one of the travel sites...like expedia, priceline, travel zoo, and find links to car rentals and get that info...oh, yea, when you go, even though the site says they will accept cash at the counter and just hold a card number for deposit, they wouldn't. have to pay for the whole thing with the cardYou cannot drive it, you have to take a train or a plane because you have to pass the sea! Have you ever study Europe geography? if not and if you are older than 18 you should know it! You can, but you have to make this expressly clear when you ask for your quote. The insurance they sell you might not otherwise cover you for international journeys, and let's be honest they always look for ways to get out of their obligations. If you have a rough itinerary in mind, I would suggest calling a few different companies - not just the Avis/Hertz/Enterprise, but maybe a smaller one too, you might find something in the Yellow Pages (below) and they'll be able to tell you more. http://www.yell.com There may be restrictions in terms of insurance...apart from that, I don't forsee any great difficulties |
