Travel Info I'm off to Sunderland for a week..... is there anything interesting to see or do??? Travel Tips Buy a North East Explorer ticket from the bus station and you can go anywhere on local buses, the metro and the Shields ferry. Newcastle is good for shopping and drinking. Whitley Bay has nice ice-cream. Gateshead has the Metro Centre (during the 80s the biggest shopping centre in Europe) Cullercoats is pretty. South Shields has a nice beach. Durham has a large cathedral, a castle, and lots of eccentric people. Darlington has a brilliant rail museum and good nightlife. Basically there is a lot to do I would just wander. People in the north-east are very nice but frown upon those who wear coats. Q How do you tell a Geordie? A Divvnt e cannet be telt. Others this is a really good answer for the north east of Uk but not as the question asked for Sunderland itself nooooooo dont go - stay in Newcastle instead No.. if you must stay there, just get drunk and forget about the whole experience. |
