Travel Info Do I need an international drivers lisence to drive in UK or will my U.S. drivers license be sufficient? Travel Tips I KNOW THIS ONE!!!! You do NOT need an international liscence. I've been living in the UK for three years and your US liscence is completely legal. Others If it's only a temporary thing then your USA license is OK to use in this country as long as the car you are driving is insured :0) If i am correct the US licence is legal but there may be a time limit at the end of which you have to take a UK driving test. A US Licence is fine for up to a year. However, I occasionally encounter distressed Americans utterly baffled by 'roundabouts' and the volume of traffic. If you're flying over do try and get some sleep before you drive, and allow plenty of time to get to your destinations. Plan to drive in the daylight and avoid rush hour traffic. |
