Is anyone from Oxfordshire, UK? I have a lot of questions!? |
Travel Info I'm going to be doing study abroad in Oxford and would love to learn more about the area and fun places to go and visit! my email is justshovejayohbe@yahoo.com i guess my question is is anyone from oxford? lol Travel Tips Oxford is a great town to live in. It's easy to get into London by train (London Paddington ~ 1hr) and the M4 and M40 motorways can take you west and north respectively if you want to see the rest of the country. In Oxford itself, it's very pleasant to walk around the colleges and by the river during the summer and there is the Sheldonian Theatre, Radcliffe Camera, Christchurch Meadows, etc. to see. The May Day celebrations are something to experience as well. Outside of Oxford, you are only 15 miles east of the Cotswolds, which is beautiful, classic English countryside with plenty of picturesque villages - good for Sunday pub lunches, cycle rides and walks. You'll have a good time in Oxford! Others i am sorry i am not from that place i used to live in Oxford when i was a kid and also moved back there for a bit when i was still a kid but a bit older. Its nice but it has its bad spots and its good spots. so i hope you get to live in a nice spot. the city centre i remember was nice, and also the Pitt Rivers museum is excellent. its part of the university buildings i think. there is a meadows like area in the city near Summertown that has nice walks along the Thames and is a nice place to go in good weather. but i dont remember much else about the city or county, sorry. I'm from Swindon which is 45 miles from Oxford. Oxford is a nice place but there football team is poor. You are Lucky because Oxford has lots of nice surrounding areas if you want to explore. I used to drive buses in and around Oxford for 2 yrs, if you want any info on the places to avoid and the places to see, please feel free to e-mail me, I would be more than happy to help. |
