You should wear a hat if you feel comfortable in one, most women wear one at the races. The etiquette is to wear something that covers your shoulders so a suit or a stole ideally but you will see strapppy dresses. But it doesn't matter what you wear, you will see some beautiful outfits and some awful ones. You are unlikely to be the best dressed or the worst dressed. Oh and wear comfortable footwear, you will end up doing a surprising amount of walking and there's nothing worse than having to take your shoes off and walk barefoot Others In Yorkshire they wear clogs and oil skin clothes for most of the year, so try and blend in. I would say to wear shortish dress with hat, or long without. But you might be better if you could get a knee length dress and wear with a hat perhaps!A;lternatively, dont get a hat but get a headpiece - theyre just as fancy and you wont get the feeling you've got too big an accessory! |
