I would say its a bit too close to home for that. If the country the kids are taken to has signed the Hague Convention then they are supposed to help the parent who remains in the country of the kids birth.
There is a case going on at the minute in Northern Ireland where the husband has taken the daughter to Algiers and is refusing to return with her.

If the familes place of residence is outside of the UK, certainly one parent can't take the child to the Isle of Man without permission of the other custodial parent, it would be considered kidnapping. I am not sure what the situation would be if the childs regular place of residence was within the UK.
