Travel Info Whats worth seeing/doing Where to eat etc.. Travel Tips Not a whole lot to do except drink but the pubs are a laugh. Decent Chinese across from Woolworths in the High Street. Pray for decent weather Others make sure you take some REALY good insect repellant. The horse flies and midges are some of the worst in the world. Be sure to pack plenty of light clothing that can be layered when it gets colder in the evenings. Remember Stornoway is quite far North & does not get such good summers as some other places in UK. Calanish standing stones are not in Stornoway but are on Lewis.Check them out.Prepare well for Sundays,fags,etc.Good Bangladeshi restaurant,possibly the only Sunday choice.Be ready to do some serious drinking.That's about it for Stornoway. Thermal underwear, a good book and a bottle of whisky. |
