When coming from the UK to the USA, do you get a visa upon arrival at the airport? |
Travel Info My b/f is coming from the UK to visit here, will he need a visa in order to come, or will he purchase it when he gets here? It's sooo confusing. Travel Tips SO, British Citizens that are travelling to the US and staying for under 3 months for take part in a Visa Waiver program. This means that the applicant fills in a form on the plane and is then briefly questioned on entry to the US. The Visa waiver is granted at the point of entry. It doesnt cost anything. The airline he flies with will provide the form. Tell him to make sure he fills it in correctly as the queues are always really long when going into the US and if you have filled your form in wrong they send you to the back to fill out a new one!! Others Why dosen't he just call the American Embassy in UK. Why do you want to rely on any answer given on this site? It's important to get the right answer from people that deal with these things. i think that he will need a PassPort to get to here because they check it when you deboard the plane. Dont be so mean Illlll Person. Gosh What is his citizenship? How long does he plan to stay? The travel industry uses a system known as TIMATIC which is maintained by IATA. You can access this database via Continental Airline's website. The URL is http://www.continental.com/vendors/defau... You will be asked several questions about the traveler and it will tell you what doucuments he/she will need based on citizenship, departure and arrival country, etc. http://www.continental.com Oh i have the same problem. But yes he can get a visa on the plane IF he has no convictions. If he has a conviction he needs to get a visa from London and hes not guarenteed to get one. my mate is in the same situation he is in uk and he went to see his gf in seattle and he didnt get a visa to go there oh and he also stayed there for 1 month but im not sure what the maximum u can stay i tihnk it also depend what passport he has oh and you can stay up to 90 days without a visa i just looked on the travellers lounge website and when u go through the immigration they just put a stamp in your passport my advise for your bf is not to bother with the visa |
