Drinking in america?

Travel Info
i turn 21 in august and i am planning on going to miami with some friends, i look quite young about 17! if i carry my passport around with me will i have any problems getting around?

Travel Tips
21 is the legal drinking age here in America. Instead of carrying your passport with you, I would recommend carrying a photo ID that has your birthdate on it, along with a copy of your passport. Keep the original passport in the safe at the hotel or better yet, in the safety deposit box at the front desk of the hotel. This way, you won't have to worry about losing it or having it stolen.

A passport is not required to get around in the U.S., but you should carry a copy of yours and the VISA page, just in case something happens and you need to prove that you are here legally. Also, to buy alcohol, you have to be 21, so you may need two forms of ID, depending on whether or not the establishment accepts your photo ID as legit or not.

Enjoy your trip to Miami!

You'll be fine as long as you have a photo ID with you. Have fun in Florida!
Nope! 21 is the legal age over there!

You will be asked to provide proof even to buy in places like Walmart
getting a round I presume. as long as you have genuine photographic id you dhould be fine.
If your trip is after your birthday, your passport will be fine. Don't take copies of the passport as many bars and restaurants will not accept them. Just be careful not to lose it!
im the same, im 21 and look 16, i got a provisional licence, not to drive but to prove im 21, and its small enough to put in your back pocket.i wud recommend one.
I got a knock back from a 7-11 i was 38 years old with 9 year old twins at my side - you will find it difficult.
