Bus or train from memphis to new orleans?

Travel Info
is there a bus or train service between memphis and new orleans. i checked amtrak but it takes over eight hours and flying is too expensive! any web site links would be appreciated!

Travel Tips
Amtrak may take 8 hours, but it is a 7 hour + car drive, AND you can sleep. Granted, Amtrak does travel on IC/CN tracks which have been a hotspot for de-railments over the last few years, but the bus probably takes 8 hours just to get to Jackson, MS. Unless you want to drive, Amtrak is the obvious choice.

Train is Willey nelson says and me too
Me, personally, I would take a bus. I work for the ambulance service in Jackson, MS and I was on duty the night the Amtrak train derailed near Jackson. It was a nasty mess and many people could have lost their lives that night. The tracks in that area are not in good shape and I would think twice about riding the train. You will be riding the same tracks. Then again, I have heard about several Greyhound accidents in the past too. Still, I would probably take the bus.
i would go with train, bus makes too many stops so train would be the best way to go
Take the train. The ride is so relaxing and the scenery is worth it.
