Travel Info Im moving to Florida I have 2 little boys and I cant decide if i want to go to miami or tampa ? Travel Tips I would choose Tampa. I lived in Miami when I went to college and I think the kids would just be better in Tampa. In Miami durring the winter you have a lot of Candains (on top of all the other cultures) then the spring breakers are there. Miami is a young city that shows it'self off. It is a wonderful place to be exposed to diffrent cultures but, if you are not used to that it can be a little bit of a shock at first. I think school wise the kids might find Tampa easier some of the schools in Miami are not in good areas and are very old. I would check with the chamber of commerce for both places they can send you stats on schools, crime, business, jobs ect. They will usally send out a moving pack to you with no charge. Also Tampa has Busch Gardens and who wouldn't love to go there every weekend! Good Luck on your move! Others tampa...a bit safer from tornadoes and culture live in FL Tampa area is much better for children. Sarasota, 35 minutes south, has one of the absolute best school districts in the state. neither go to Daytona Beach Florida i used to live there besides its nice also Tampa!! Unless you speak fluent Spanish, Then I recommend Tampa. Miami has a very high cost of living and the average pay rate is VERY low. There are ads that require years of experience, bi-lingual, and sometimes a degree to pay, get this, $8 an hour. Miami is fun to visit, and say you've been there, but not for living. While I have never been to Tampa, I can't give an opinion. But with two young children, anywhere but Miami. The school systems are poor as well, you would have to put them in private school if you would like your children to get a decent education. Teachers are trapped in Miami-Dade school system, therefore many have lost their love for teaching. If you want to give your family a better quality of life, don't move here. Also, you may hear that Miami people are rude. I will have to disagree, as a Miami native myself, people who grew up in Miami (the more north side, English speaking) aren't rude at all. We have alot of imports that help to give Miami, the REAL Miami, a bad name |
