I would recommend buying the Lonely Planet's guide to Switzerland

The book would list individual hotels with prices, etc.
Try Express by Holiday Inn, use internet booking, preferable 14 days in advance to get the best rate.

Auberge de Jeunesse Geneve, Rue Rotschild. Nice place, cheap, very close to the port (near Quai de Mont Blanc)
Switzerland?? Cheap?? Ha, good luck. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere that was cheap in Switzerland. They jack the prices up so high because the swiss franc isn't worth as much as the dollar or the euro. If you want to go to Geneva, you might want to stay on the French/Swiss border and drive down or take the train. It's not very far.
