Spring. Wonderful weather, fewer tourists, cheaper than summer airfaire. In fact, the weekend of Easter and the week after are great times to go. Athens is empty on Easter, since everyone has returned home for the weekend, and the following week major places like Delphi and Olympia are open, but with few others taking vacation photographs.

Summer for sure! Better the last 15 days of August, its not that crowded then.
my experience by living in greece
the spring and the fall for me. no crowds, and everyone is so happy and relaxed then. easter in greece is the BEST!! BUT, if you are young, or if you are gay or single then you might like the summer. lots of people, higher prices, longer lines... need i say more?
