Whish is the best deck for a cruise? |
Travel Info Whish is the best deck for a cruise? Travel Tips The lower decks on cruise ships tend to be the cheapest - especially if they are inside cabins. This is because of the smaller hallways, proximity to engines & distance from facilities (e.g. restaurants, bars). The top decks on most cruise ships contain the suites and more expensive rooms. Quite often they will have a balcony but they may also be offered as inside cabins. On some ships you will be invited to special functions or be given access to certain facilities simply for being on a certain deck or in a certain grade of cabin. (For example, many ships run embarkation and disembarkation in the order of decks - top down.) But being higher up in the ship, you will feel the sway of the boat more. One other thing to be wary of is if you are on the top deck - quite often the decks are washed down very early each morning (3-4am) and the sun loungers are moved around. This can be very noisy if you are directly below it!
