(see link source below). Less than 6% of tourists to Greece were from the rest of the world. However, Greece was named the favourite place to visit in 2005 by Chinese voters in a Chinese survey (see source below) The Greek prime minister visited China in January 2006 and discussed increasing tourism links. I also know - since I have several friends working in the tourism business in Greece, that many of the Chinese tourists who tour Europe also include Greece in their list. I'm sure the number will only increase in the future after recent talks between the Greek and Chinese government on strengthening the partnership of the two countries. |
