East of Italy, west of Turkey (across the Aegean Sea), just south of the former Yugoslavia, Albania and Bulgaria. North of the Mediteranean, across of which is Egypt and Libya. Macedonia is the former Yugoslave republic that borders Greece, not to be confused with the Greek province of Macedonia.
