Travel Tips Delphi was the most important oracle of ancient Greece.The Pythia-priestess of Apollo ,god of light and truth,gave prophecies to people that gathered there from all city states and kingdoms of Greece.The story is very long but interestingly science today meets history.Delphi is located on the slope of mount Parnassus.It is one spectacular site with ruins of the temple,the treasuries ,the theater etc.The museum hosts the "Charioteer" bronze statue 2500 years old , the silver-golden bull , the Sphinx 2600 y.old and more.You can drive to this "bellybutton" (center) of the world in only 2.5 hours from Athens. Other Travel Tips It麓s a nice little town on the way down south towards athens, an absolute must but make sure you get the opening hours right or you won麓t get to see the actual oracle area :-) Even if it麓s closed you can explore other really spectacular ruins close by and of course, buy the necessary souvenirs in the local shops. Worth a trip!!! Been there, done that! Delfi was the center (the navel) of the earth for ancient Greece. There were the temple of Appolo and Pithea a priestess who could tell the future.
