Even if you are not into monastaries there are amazing rock formations AND they filmed a james bond movie there once upon a time. And from a person who lived in Volos, Greece for a month - the food is amazing and Larissa has great shopping. Source(s): www.greecetravel.com/meteora/ Other Travel Tips Other than the island (Crete, Santorini, Mikinos, Rhodes - all beautiful) visit Delphi, north west of Korinthos, which is an hour outside of Athens. If you have the time and inclination go to Instanbul in Turkey too. It's a great visit. I spend a lot of time on the mainland of Greece and really loved the less tourist populated areas in the south west, near the little town of Methoni. There is an ancient fort there. It is much less traveled though. Modified 1 year ago Go see the Parthenon! Rodos,Santorini,and Creti. All the islands!!!!
