Travel Info Has anyone ever been to Malia? (In Crete) ill be there in 6 weeks :) so just curious what its like!? Travel Tips I've lived in the neighbouring resort of Stalis for 7 years. Malia is great for under 25s for night-life. It's basically 2 streets absolutely packed with bars and clubs, with cheap drink offers full of very cheap spirits. I prefer other places to party, as there only ever seem to be British people there, usually under-age and throwing up, but they do play great music of all different kinds. Closing time is 5am during the week and 6am Friday and Saturdays. It's great for dancing, and for finding a holiday romance. Best clubs are Cloud 9, Zig Zag and Malibu. There is a large beach there, although its a bit of a walk away, and you may prefer to catch a bus 5 min up the road to Stalis. Behind the main road is Old Malia, where there are a lot more traditional restaurants hidden away in little streets. Malia is definitely a fun place to be and I'm sure you'll return again and again, until you start feeling a bit old to be there, then you can move up the road. Also try Hersonissos, its 10 minutes up the road in a cab or bus, also has great nightlife and a broader mix of nationalities. Check out Camelot Club and Amnesia both opposite each other on a side road. Others Here are some links that can help you. I麓ve been to Crete and it麓s a wonderful island.Malia is pretty near to Heraklion and it has a wild nightlife (awesome beaches, as well). http://www.malia.co.uk/ http://www.travel-to-crete.com/place.php... http://www.virtualgreece.net/crete/malia... i worked in Crete for the summer season. It depends on what your looking for. Malia is great for night life the place comes alive at night!!! there is some great restaurants, my favorite was "the Brasserie" food was great! there is plenty places where you can get a English fry up the morning after! try the "red lion" it was always good there. If you were looking for somewhere about quieter and with some Greek culture try the west of the island! There is a good water park near Malia and the Greek night that the tour operators offer is worth a visit. Hope you have a great holiday. |
