Travel Info I want to take a trip to Greece. I was wondering if anyone has taken a trip to Greece and could give me some tips on making it as fabulous and cheap as possible. Others Fly on a discounted fare into one of the main European hubs (London, Frankfurt), then look for bucketshops or websites for cheap European airlines (like Ryanair or BMI) for Athens. Once in Athens, you can catch a boat to the islands for less than 40.00 euros. The Sardonic Gulf islands are very close by: 1-2 hours. Although not as spectacular as the Cyclades, they offer a nice break from Athens if you're short on time. The Cyclades (where most of the tourists go) are a bit further off: more than 5 hours, as long as 19 hours for Santorini! This is the "resort" Greece sun worshippers love. The more internationally famed the island... the more it costs to sleep on, and the more crowded it is with foreigners. You might not even need to buy a book! http://www.frommers.com/ http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ since you are still planning you should take into account that camping is the cheapest way of having a good night sleep, it is possible since the weather is hot in summer. transportation from island to island is a standard cost, depending the trip distance and the vessel, since the faster the vessel the higher the price. another tip is that you should avoid cosmopolitan place where prices for food, drinks and even super markets, are irrational, like myconos or rodos etc. so i recommend less crowded islands such as milos, serifos, sifnos, siros, paros, naxos, andros and many more.
