How long does it take to process greece tourist visa? |
Travel Info Hi all! I live in Arkansas, and I submitted an application for tourist visa to Greece Consulate in Houston (I've granted a permission to submit my application by mail due to the distance from my place to Houston). I mailed it next day air April 8 and it got to the consulate on Monday April 10. I haven't heard anything from them, and I was wondering how long does it usually take to get it done and mailed back to me? From my past experience, United Kingdom takes 2 days and Canada takes about a week. I'm afraid that I will not get it on time since I'll be leaving May 15. Can anybody give me clue on this? Thanks! Travel Tips I'm surprised you need one if you are american?? What nationality are you,? then perhaps somebody could give you better advise EDIT AMERicans definately do not need a tourist visa for Greece :-) Source(s): PS if I need visa, always go in person, and get my visa the same day (this happen even official guidelines say much longer eg I got my Irain visa same day, when it takes most uk citizens (I'm a uk citizen) 4 weeks!) Other Travel Tips i guess because you are american you dont need to wait at all, and what more i think you don;t need it at all. it should not take you long anyway , you are american why don't you call the Greek Consulate in Houston? It matters not that you live in Arkansas; what's your nationality? American citizens just need a passport, nothing more. (Maybe you submitted the wrong application and that's why it's taking so long.) Here's the official word: GREECE - *Passport required. Visa not required for tourist/business stay of up to 90 days. (**The 90-day period begins when entering Schengen countries). Travelers will need a visa for longer stays. Submit a passport with minimum validity of 3 months, bank and credit card statements for the last 3 months, W-2 forms for the last 2 years, official itinerary and proof of hotel reservation, proof of health insurance, and reference letter from employer. For additional information, contact the consular section of the Embassy of Greece, 2211 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington D.C. 20008 (202-939-1333) or nearest Greek Consulate: CA (310/826-5555 OR 415/775-2102/4) GA (404/261-3313), IL (312/335-3915 or 17), LA (504/523-1167), MA (617/523-0100), NY (212/988-5500) or (713/840-7522).
