Travel Info Has anyone been to Kea island in Greece? is it nice there? Travel Tips Yes I go there every weekend.I have a speed boat and Kea is near Lavrio port (only 17 nautical miles). Lavrio is only 30 km far from my house and Kea is a good destination for a weekend. It's a nice island. Good beaches, restaurants, bars and a museum. Ioulis , the capital, has a nice view.Pisses, a small village, has a nice camping (the only camping in the island). Otzias is a small port with taverns. When you go there taste pasta with lobster. They call it : ASTAKOMACARONADA (difficult word, delicious food) If you want quiet, it is a good destination but it isn't the most beautiful island in Cyclades area (as Santorini, Naxos, Siros or Milos). Yes. yes yes comment:small island try combining with other destinations I am Greek and I have been to Kea many times. Kea is good, very small and quiet. It is not like Santorini, Zante or other islands for example. If you are planning to go Kea to do EVERYTHING then I believe you have to search for another island. But if you are planning to go to Kea just for swimming, chill-out and good food, then you can try it. I hope I helped you just a bit.. |
