Travel Tips have coffee at piraeus' port (15 min by metro from athens) visit the museum and national picture gallery go shopping at monastiraki (great ethnic artifacts, clothes, antiques..) eat at restaurants at psiri (area near monastiraki) visit a club at thisio take the tour with a guide at the monuments downtown (acropolis, agora etc) enjoy the view from licabitos (you can go by teleferic too) go visit the oaka stadium at irini metro station (the stadium where the opening and closing ceremony of the olympics 2004 took place) Others Seeing the Pentathlon. When you are up there on the mountain, looking down on Athens when the sun is rising, you really feel like you are a god. Eating the food is a must. Get a look at the Olympic site. When I lived in Athens I loved to eat. You should visit the regular tourist sites, but get away from central athens and head to Glifadas to eat. Glifadas has nice beaches too.
