Visiting Greece in November...bad idea?

Travel Info
I'll be getting married this November, and I've always thought of Greek Islands as one of the most romantic places in the world and the most perfect destination for a honeymoon. However, I've been told that a lot of hotels are actually closed on the Greek islands during these winter months and that the weather is horrible. Is this true? Should I give up my dream of having a romantic Greek honeymoon? Or is it really not that bad and still worth a visit? Please help! Thanks!

Travel Tips
I wouldn't recommend the islands in November BUT if you are prepared to forgo the idea of a beach holiday and want to spend time in a beautiful Greek town - I would suggest you look at Nafplion in the Peloponnese. It's just a couple of hours from Athens by public transport and is close to Epidavros and Mycenae if you want to take in some Greek classical sites. It has visitors all year round so is not a ghost town like so many other tourist destinations in the winter.

The old town is beautiful and there are plenty of small pensions and hotels to choose from. There is a picturesque harbour and dozens of excellent bars and restaurants. It is a popular weekend destination for Athenians wishing to escape the city.

We were in Crete in late October early November and it was exactly as you describe. Hotels and restaurants were closed and the rain didn't let up for days on end. If I were you, I'd pick another honeymoon spot and save the Greek islands for a summer trip. Wish you the best of luck and a happy future.
I wouldn't suggest you going to cyclades or generally the aegean islands cause they will be out of season. the ionian islands are on season the hole year and the islands in the saronic gulf are really romantic in november too. although don't expect the summeral life like mykonos. in november everything is more quite and to my opinion more romantic.

I hope you'll have a nice honeymoon trip!
I'm sorry but I think you won't like it. I 'm Greek so i know for a fact that all the above are true. it would be cold, the transportation towards the islands is very poor during that season, and the islands are pretty much deserted (the small romantic ones at least). Any way there are some places on the Ionian sea that you can visit and have fun but i 'm afraid it would be nothing like you had in mind though..
Sorry..

P.s. congratulations
