In what area of Athens is the Greek parthenon?

Travel Info
I'm wanting a hotel in the immediate vicinity.

Travel Tips
It's in the Plaka/Monasteraki area. You can walk to it from the Monasteraki or Acropolis Metro stations. It is right in the middle of Athens and can be seen towering above the city from just about anywhere central! It is well worth a visit! Source(s): live in Greece

Other Travel Tips
on a plateau above the main part of the city I think
yeah its downtown, there is a metro station named acropolis so its pretty easy to find it!
plaka - the main touristy area
Athens was built 4.500 years ago. It all started around a plateau. On the plateu, temples were built. Parthenon was built during the 5th century B.C.
The city was developed around the Parthenon. So nowadays, the Parthenon is in the middle of Athens.
You can go there by the underground train. It's the station "Acropolis".
You can also visit Plaka and Monastiraki, which is also around the plateau.
Have a good time in Greece!
I'm a Greek!
