Where would you recommend to stay in Rhodes, Greece? |
Travel Info I am interested in both areas of the island and hotel recommendations. I would like to stay in a hotel on the beach that is also walking distance to town. The Ixan Grand Hotel (http://www.theixiangrand.gr/index.php)... on Rhodes looks nice. Has anyone stayed there? Is Ixia beach a good location to stay? Travel Tips Ixia is a small village full of special, luxury and low price hotels.It has a very nice beach, with golden sand and a light blue sea. There are many shops, bars banks, restaurants e.t.c. But it's far from the city of Rhodes. You cannot go to the city of Rhodes on foot you need car or bus (approx. 15' drive time). There are many hotels there see the links below. I prefer Grand Hotel because I like to stay at the town of Rhodes, not in a village. I like to walk but not 5km to reach the city of Rhodes. So, Grand Hotel is perfect. De lux category, on the beach, very good. Other Travel Tips I have stayed in Calypso Hotel (eastern side, better beaches). Food and drinks are first class, the staff and animation's team attitude is very professional and the hotel's infrastructure is amazing (swimming pools, gym, convention centre, Restaurants, Bars, Water Sports)... Rooms are refurbished. PS: the eastern side has much better beaches than the western one!!! Less wind and waves, more sand and less pebbles !!!Hilton, Grand Hotel and Ixian are located on the western side of the island http://www.calypso.gr. It seems that this is an hotel of a big chain. |
