I was wondering if anybody out there thought that greece would be a safe trip for my wife and son(15) alone. than you

Of course it would be. I am a 22 year olf female and I went with another one of my friends of the same age. We went to Athens, Santorini, Paros and Veria and it is absolutely the most amazing trip we've ever been on. The people are so friendly and want to help you out any way they can. We went to the touristy areas and areas that were not very visited by tourists and were treated great everywhere. You have no need to worry. Tip: if going to Athens stay in the PLAKA area, or any other area other then OMONIA (big no on this area, it's dangerous).

Go to Greece, it's really worth seeing and completly safe!

Of course it is safe, but why should they go alone? You shouldn't miss the opportunity to see the cradle of civilization and bathe at the best beaches in the world...
Yes! They would be very safe. Greece is a popular tourist destination and I wouldn't think twice about not letting them go. I went there with my friend (both females) 15 years ago and had a great time. As always, they should use their common sense - but I'm sure it would be a wonderful vacation for them. You can always check out http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw... for travel advisories. As you can see - Greece is not listed. I found the people to be very nice and gracious.
