We are looking for a cheap hotel in Greece "Athens" around 20-35 Euro per day per room in a double for 2. |
Travel Info We me and my wife are planning to visit greece in August, and looking to visit Athens in the first week, so we are looking for a double room within 20-35 Euro per day. We are also planning for another week in Greece in another city or island, any suugestions for a budget place? Travel Tips Search www.gtp.gr but the hotels for this kind of money will be located in bad areas. If I were you I would stay less and stay in a better hotel like Philippos or Plaka hotel. Others hello try athensrooms or search athensrooms and you will find exactly what you want You just go to webpage www.tayftours.com check the budget packages incl. hotels and island packages or let them to organise it for you. visit the page and go the design your own greece tour. They will return you in 24 hours. If you are looking to stay in Athens for that cheap, I assume you are hoping to stay in a hostel with shared bathrooms. You could try Students and Travellers Inn or try TripAdvisor.com to search for places within your budget. As for less expensive cities in Greece, you can try Thessaloniki in the north. It's quite overlooked and underrated, but its lovely. It is near Mt. Olympus, Vergina (remains of Alexander the Great's father), and many other historical sites. I believe it has beaches too. Nafplio, which is quite close to Athens and was the first capital of the modern Greek nation, is also quite lovely. If you are looking for budget islands, avoid the Aegean ones for those in the Ionian sea to the west. I love Zakynthos/Zante, and I know that Kefalonia and Corfu are also supposed to be gorgeous. Try Kalymnos Island in the Aegean. Cheap rates for condos as opposed to nearby Kos or Rhodes, great beaches and night- life. Mostly tourism from UK and Scandinavia. The only Americans or Germans are the ones that have relatives there or just want some place off the beaten path. Stayed at theodoridis apartments on Masouri Beach. 25 to 30 EU a day for small new apartment with veranda. Check the link. http://www.theodoridisapartments.gr/... Hope to see you there. I Corinthians 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!! Have you tried looking into one of the towns just below Athens? Public buses and the underground can take you almost anywhere. Stay away from the town near the airport. Raffina on the coast is lovely and you can probably find someone who will rent you a room if you visit the port or their visitor's center. August is a very busy time in Greece because the Greeks take their vacations then, and Athens clears out somewhat except for tourism and tourists. You will have more fun at a coastal village ... try the big island of Evia, too. Good luck. |
