Travel Info I'm an american living in mexico and i'm planning on taking a trip down to Guatamala. Any advice or ideas? Travel Tips Fly, don't drive down there. It's better to rent a car in Guatemala city since foreign plates seem to attract 'police'. Nice places to visit are Antigua (the former capital, great colonial feeling), Panajachel (just on the shore of lake Atitlan) and if you get a chance Tikal in the Peten.
