How did you deal with reverse culture shock? |
Travel Info How did you deal with reverse culture shock? Travel Tips I think it's easier to go slow. Take the first week exploring areas and places that have changed, or you didn't know well before you left. Go see a movie, sit in a cafe and people-watch, go for a walk, and enjoy things you missed. Put yourself around other people, but not in a position where you're forced to interact right away. Others there was a reverse culture shock? lol guess you have my answer ok I will submit to being ignorant on this one prior to your added post. I understand the question but not being in a position of experiencing this readjustment I will admit I do not know. Pardon my original comment, But thanks for the knowledge. Modified 1 year ago You have to get over it the same way you went through regular culture shock. It should go away in a few weeks. Live simply and be thankful for all the blessings we have in America. International traveler. I had to deal with that when I returned to the U.S. when I was 13 after having lived in Canada for two years. As for what I did to cope with that, probably not the best things, and some of them were illegal. I hope that some of these other people can recommend better things for you or that you can come up with them on your own. |
