Travel Info Do you feel safe flying on commercial airlines now? Travel Tips Yes. I only fly on commerical airlines. It is just the way I prefer to go. If you are referring to terrorist attacks, there really is nothing I can do to prevent this and if I was worried I just wouldn't fly. If you are referring to companies going bankrupt, that is why I buy insurance. The worst thing that could happen is I would lose the money from the tickets and would have to buy new, so it could be worse. I just prefer going commerical, I have had better experiences this way. Others Absolutely! Its still the safest way to travel, look at statistics there are still fewer accidents in commercial airline travel than any other form of travel. You have a better chance of getting stuck by lightening. Granted I am a commercial pilot so my answer is a bit biased :) Even with the threat of terrorism, I still don't feel any more at risk now than I did in pre 9-11 days. The crews are very well trained, the aircraft well maintained and the technology is amazing that is being used to keep everyone safe! So help support the economy and aviaton fly more! :) No. Never did. I've flown a few times when I had to, but, regardless of statistics, I know I'm much safer in my car. No one has ever died in a car I was driving -- can any airline beat that statistic? I have always felt safe flying. I figure the pilot wants to live as much as I do, so why worry? Nothing in life in guaranteed. You could be killed tomorrow just buying groceries! However, statistically, flying is much, MUCH safer than driving a car. |
