How much do you tip a valet? |
Travel Info How much do you tip a valet? Travel Tips $1-$3 when the car is returned (see link below, under "At the hotel"). Source(s): http://www.findalink.net/tippingetiquett... Other Travel Tips NO less than $1.00 which I believe is the average... It depends on where you are and how much you can afford (how loaded you are) :) For example I am poor but when I go someplace fancy and they INSIST in parking my car for me, I do not tip them. I would just as soon park myself. However, if I am going some place nice and want to impress my wife or friends, I will valet the car and slip $5 to the guy upon pickup. Depends on what you drive and how long you stay. Average car for at least an hour, $2.00 is fine. Less than 1 hour, $3-5.00 is appropriate. About the same amount if you drive a large hard-to-park vehicle or if you want it left up front. Good luck and be kind! It depends on what he's doing for you and how well he does it. Locally the going rate, if he is doing a good job with handling bags it's a dollar a bag. If he does a bad job it is less or nothing. It depends. I'm a bartender, and i've realized different people tip different dallor amounts. In other words, If you are going somewhere fancy, I would higher than if otherwise. Also, it depends on what kind of service you wan't. If you give them 20$ the first time you pull up, they will help you in any way shape or form. When I was slinging drinks, I always loved the people who came up to the bar with ten bucks on the table before they were even served. Believe me, it payed off for them too. Their drinks were twice as heavy as everyone elses and I was their "Johny on THe spot." My wife and I went to ATL for a TRIP, AND WE GAVE THE VALLET TWENTY. hE HELPED US WITH EVERYTHING LIKE WHERE TO EAT, WHERE TO GO, HOW TO GET THERE, WHER NOT TO GO ETC. |
