Is it true that in INDONESIA, CHINESE-INDONESIAN people are facing severe RACISM and DISCRIMINATION everyday? |
Travel Info Who do that to the Chinese-Indoonesian people? I mean here in America, white people are still a bit racist toward black people. How about your country then? What made that illogical hatred there? Is it caused by slavery also? Travel Tips Some discrimination I say in most cases, severe discrimination in some cases. Both parties (native Indonesian and Chinese Indonesian) discriminate against each other for many reasons. One of which is wealth discrepancies. No slavery that I can think of. Others Yes. Discrimination on one level or another has been a part of humanity since humans were first around. You forgot to mention that black people in America are not only a little racist towards whites, but a lot. Is that failure to remember that a racist act? There are even blacks so racist they actually believe that whites who never owned slaves, and in many cases, whose ancestors weren't even here when we had slavery, are supposed to pay trillions of dollars to blacks who were never slaves, and in some cases never had ancestors who were slaves. Not really. Actually some chinese-indonesian people tried to separate them self from the native indonesian. They build their own private school, they live together in the same neighborhood, they make friends with another chinese-indonesian. But I don't think that they're facing severe racism and discrimination. In fact, Indonesian people are not that racist. yes racism is present everywhere which makes the world interesting not dull. i hate the nig$#%* I'm a Chinese Indonesian and I don't receive a lot of discrimination in Indonesia. The Indonesians are very friendly and their are only very minor groups that are racist. Indonesia actually is like the Melting pot of the Far East. Many different kinds of people from Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and the U.S. live in Indonesia and rarely face discrimination. For the most part people in Indonesia are not racist, there were no slavery against indigenous Indonesian by the Chinese Indonesian. However, there was a form of slavery when the Dutch, German and Japanese was occupying Indonesian Archipelago from 1500 to 1945 and was ended when WW II ended. However, resentment towards Dutch, and Japanese runs deep in Indonesian elders because they were tortured during the war. Yet, for most Indonesian youths they are more accepting of foreigners, but still despise the Idea of Communism in this Country that is the most populous muslim country in the world. Indonesia does not have many discriminations towards other religion, but the recent riots and killings that were between Christians and Muslim there was started by some one from outside the country trying to make Indonesia a Terrorist sponsoring country, which by the government of Indonesia is totally oppose to the idea of an Islamic State. We have our Democracy of the people, by the people for the people and there is nothing they can do to make us a country of terrorists. |
