Need tips for snorkeling beginner?

Travel Info
I need to know the preparations that I should take in going for a snorkeling for the first time. Please start from the dress I should wear, how I should breathe under water, how deep I should go, how fast I should swim, how long I should remain under water, whether I should touch the sea bed, what kind of probable risk there is,

Travel Tips
Drowning is always a risk when you're in the water. Don't go snorkeling if you don't know how to swim or at least know how to tread water.

Remember that you lose body heat quickly in water. If it's fairly warm and you don't plan to go snorkeling for a long time, a swimsuit will do. But if not, you might consider wearing a shorty wetsuit to keep you warm.

Be sure the mask fits your face. Choose fins that are snug but not too tight. If they hurt or curl your toes especially, you may develop cramps while snorkeling. If they slip off your heels, they're too big. Start with shorter length fins and work up as your legs strengthen. To use your fins correctly, you must use an efficient flutter kick. Try to keep your knees relaxed to prevent your leg muscles from cramping, and practice keeping your fins below the water line.

To use the snorkel, take a deep breath, bite down on the mouthpiece and submerge your head in the water. If water gets into your tube, purge it by exhaling sharply once to clear any water that may be in the snorkel shaft. Inhale gently at first in case there is any residual water. Blast a second time if needed, and continue to do so whenever water enters the snorkel.

Once you are ready to take a dive, inhale and hold your breath, then dive to explore the underwater environment around you. Then ascend, make sure the snorkel end is above the surface, then purge to clear the tube of water.

To enjoy snorkeling, know your personal limitations and do not push your limits.

Lastly, relax. A relaxed snorkeler gets more pleasure out of snorkeling.

well if u have an instructor thay should tell u, but w/ snorkeling u pretty much breathe in and out through your mouth, u probably shouldn't touch stuff cuz who knows wuts poisonous
watch out for stingrays
crockie!
I just went snorkeling for the first time too. I would just wear a bathing suit. Or if you have sensitive skin maybe a fitted tee that will cover your back. I got a pretty decent burn on my upper back since its facing the sun the whole time. Just keep your head floating on top and breathe through the tube. Don't turn your head too much or try to watch a fish as it swims behind you, thats when your tube goes under and you accidentally swallow some water. Swim as fast or as slow as you want. And if you want to go underwater, take out the mouthpiece and hold your breath (its hard to hold your breath while you have the mouthpice in). That's all, have fun!!
Snorkeling is really simple. I am a non-swimmer and I love to snorkel. I learned on a cruise ship - they gave a quickie lesson in the swimming pool. I think the lesson lasted ten or fifteen minutes. There's really not much to it. Go as deep as you are comfortable with. Just float around so you don't scare the fish away. I like to use a flotation vest partially inflated. Some things on the bottom can hurt. Wear water shoes and don't step on any sea anemone. Take an underwater camera and have fun!
A pretty pink dress is best for beginners, about knee length( you don't want to get those stingrays excited)

Slow steady breaths, concentrate-- it is easy to lose yourself in the moment and hyperventilate.
only go as deep as you can still sense the surface and go slow at first, you can build up speed later and don't touch anything unless it seems friendly and responsive there are unknown risks right in front of you.
